When I first heard that these boys weren’t exactly thrilled about having their photos taken, I braced myself for a bit of resistance. Picture this: two energetic kids who’d rather be anywhere but in front of a camera, and a mom who’s determined to keep up the annual tradition. They definately had their doubts about how this session would go! But as it turns out, the early morning hour and the stunning beach backdrop were just what we needed to make it a memorable experience.
We met at the crack of dawn—5:45 AM, to be exact. As much as it might sound like an ungodly hour to start a photo shoot, there’s something magical about the beach at sunrise. The soft light, the gentle waves, and the tranquility of the early morning set the perfect stage for our session.
Despite their initial reluctance, the boys soon found themselves enjoying the shoot more than they expected. The beach provided a subconscience enjoyment, I think, and the enviornment quickly transformed the session into a fun, engaging experience rather than a chore.
Miramar Beach, especially around the 30A area, has become one of my favorite sunrise session locations. The serene ambiance and breathtaking views at this time of day create an unparalleled backdrop for capturing genuine moments. The beach’s natural beauty at dawn adds a layer of warmth and softness to every photo, making each shot feel both intimate and expansive.
As the sun climbed higher and the boys became more relaxed, we managed to capture some truly special moments. The joy and spontaneity that emerged were exactly what I hoped for. It’s amazing how the right environment can turn a reluctant subject into a natural in front of the camera.
So, to all the parents who worry about their kids being camera-shy or those who might be hesitant about early morning shoots—don’t fret. Sometimes, a little early rising and the right setting can work wonders. Miramar Beach proved once again to be a magical place for capturing beautiful, joyful moments, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
Here’s to many more sunrise sessions and to the unexpected joy they bring!
xoxo,
Jamie
